03 May 1978TL;DR: In this article, the operation of an electrolytic machine tool is monitored over equal periods of time, so as to detect the number of short circuits, if any, which occur.
Abstract: The operation of an electrolytic machine tool is monitored over equal periods of time, so as to detect the number of short circuits, if any, which occur. Where a given number of short circuits are detected in any one time period, a signal is derived from the last of that number and utilised to switch off the electrode traverse motor through power and electrolyte flow are maintained to enable sludge clearance and observation of the resultant reduction in short circuits.

20 Oct 1978TL;DR: In this article, the rotor and stator of a turbine a gaz are modelled as cerclees d'un bandage, and a turbulence sopposant a la fuite des gaz chauds moteurs par l'entrefer a.

10 Jan 1978TL;DR: In this paper, a ducted fan gas turbine power plant consists of a core gas generator, which may be a single or two-shaft gas generator and which drives a fan at the downstream end of the power plant.
Abstract: A ducted fan gas turbine powerplant consists of a core gas generator, which may be a single or two-shaft gas generator, and which drives a fan at the downstream end of the powerplant. The exhaust from the gas generator is mixed with flow in the fan duct and the fan operates on the mixed stream as a working fluid.

10 Dec 1982TL;DR: In this paper, a pyrometer which senses blade temperature in the engine is also used to detect the onset of an engine surge, and if the duration exceeds a given time, set by the monostable, an output from the duration detector actuates a fuel chopper to minimize the effect of the surge.
Abstract: A pyrometer which senses blade temperature in the engine as also used to detect the onset of an engine surge. The output of the pyrometer 2 (FIG. 1) passes to a level detector unit, comprising a differential amplifier and a constant reference voltage, and which produces an output when the pyrometer signal exceeds the reference voltage. A duration detector comprising a monostable 12, inverter 14, delay line 18 and AND gate 16 determines the duration of the excess level signal and if the duration exceeds a given time, set by the monostable, an output from the duration detector actuates a fuel chopper to minimize the effect of the surge.

01 Apr 1971TL;DR: The blocker flaps in the fan duct of a gas turbine ducted fan engine are mounted for simultaneous pivoting across the fan and movement bodily downstream thereof so as to attain the required throat area for the subsequently reversed flow of fan air through the reverser aperture in the Fan cowl as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The blocker flaps in the fan duct of a gas turbine ducted fan engine are mounted for simultaneous pivoting across the fan duct and movement bodily downstream thereof so as to attain the required throat area for the subsequently reversed flow of fan air through the reverser aperture in the fan cowl.
