TL;DR: In this paper, a trois sessions of traitement hebdomadaire were performed by sevenvingt-quinze etudiantes japonaises, and the results showed that les deux traitements furent efficaces for abaisser le rythme cardiaque and la pression sanguine, and for augmenting l'estime de soi; cependant, les perceptions of l'auto-appreciation de la forme physique declinaient avec le temps.
Abstract: Cette etude explora les effets du hatha yoga et de la relaxation progressive sur le rythme cardiaque, la pression sanguine, l'auto-appreciation de la forme physique et l'estime de soi. Quatre-vingt-quinze etudiantes japonaises participerent a trois sessions de traitement hebdomadaire. Les resultats montrerent que les deux traitements furent efficaces pour abaisser le rythme cardiaque et la pression sanguine, et pour augmenter l'estime de soi; cependant, les perceptions de l'auto-appreciation de la forme physique declinaient avec le temps. Aucune difference significative ne fut trouvee entre les traitements

Abstract: It is widely held that Japanese and U.S. Americans differ in prominent aspects of their psychological make-ups, and that experiences of early life may be responsible for certain social and intellectual distinctions between members of these two cultures. To compare and contrast activities and interactions of Japanese and American mothers and their 5-month-old infants, 48 mother-infant dyads, half in Tokyo and half in New York City, were observed in the natural setting of their homes. This report examines mothers visual and verbal stimulation of infants and infants visual and tactual exploration and vocalisation from a macroanalytic viewpoint. First, similarities and differences among Japanese and American infants and mothers on these activities are assessed.
