30 Aug 2012TL;DR: The model will be used as a decision-support tool for managing demand, by using aircraft and flight schedules to evaluate and generate aircraft-maintenance requirements, including spare-part lists, by minimizing cost, minimizing lead time, and maximizing the quality under various constraints in the model.
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to develop the multiobjective optimization model in order to evaluate suppliers for aircraft maintenance tasks, using goal programming. The authors have developed a two-step process. The model will firstly be used as a decision-support tool for managing demand, by using aircraft and flight schedules to evaluate and generate aircraft-maintenance requirements, including spare-part lists. Secondly, they develop a multiobjective optimization model by minimizing cost, minimizing lead time, and maximizing the quality under various constraints in the model. Finally, the model is implemented in the actual airline's case.

04 Oct 2012TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist productivity index (MPI) to explore the operation performances of 55 Thai logistics companies from 2007 to 2010.
Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to develop appropriate construct to benchmark performances of logistics companies so that deficiencies can be highlighted and possible strategies can be evolved to improve the performances of the industry. The study applies data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist productivity index (MPI) to explore the operation performances of 55 Thai logistics companies from 2007 to 2010. The results point out the reasons for the inefficient Decision Making Units (DMUs) and provide improving directions for the inefficient companies accordingly. The study provides a simple but comprehensive methodology for improving logistics competences. By comparing the efficiency of logistics companies, this research contributes to find Thai logistics companies weaknesses in order to take effective measures to improve the their level of input and output so as to improve their logistics efficiency.

TL;DR: The enhancement of MUPRET framework is proposed to automatically generate traceability relationships of multiperspective software artifacts expressed in terms of typical analysis models (i.e., class diagram and entity relationship diagram) to emphasize on tracing multiperspecting in the analysis phase of software development process.
Abstract: The traceability of multiperspective software artifacts has been recognized as an important task, particularly in requirements change management. The heterogeneity of multiperspective software artifacts makes it difficult to perform tracing, verification and merging of the requirements among various system developers. In view of that, ontology is used as a knowledge management mechanism to represent multiperspective software artifacts in a common way for interoperability and traceability purposes. Our multiperspective requirements traceability (MUPRET) framework was firstly proposed for tracing the textual requirements to resolve the heterogeneity problems found in multiperspective requirements artifacts. In this paper, the enhancement of MUPRET framework is proposed to automatically generate traceability relationships of multiperspective software artifacts expressed in terms of typical analysis models (i.e., class diagram and entity relationship diagram). We emphasize on tracing multiperspectives in the analysis phase of software development process. An illustrative example of the extended applications is also discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, acid hydrolysis and shaking extraction methods were used to extract nine genotypes of Thai rice grains and the results demonstrated that the extraction methods affected phenolic antioxidant of rice grains.
Abstract: Acid hydrolysis and shaking extraction methods were used to extract nine genotypes of Thai rice grains. The extracts were determined total phenolic including anthocyanin contents and antioxidant capacities using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and the ferric thiocyanate assays from white, red, and black rice grains. The results demonstrated that the extraction methods affected phenolic antioxidant of rice grains. The values of insoluble phenolic compounds were significantly higher than those of soluble phenolic compounds, which was about 1.3 times. The soluble anthocyanin content of grains was low comparing to the insoluble anthocyanin content. In addition, among studied rice grains, black rice possessed the highest phenolic and anthocyanin contents as well as antioxidant capacities. These findings suggested that black rice can be further explored as a functional food.
