01 Mar 2017TL;DR: In this article, a detailed review of UWB antennas designed for body area network (BAN) applications is presented, including the performance in terms of gain, radiation pattern, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of antennas near human body, and design parameters such as substrate, size, feeder, bandwidth, design structure (geometry) and use of Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC).
Abstract: This paper provides a detailed review of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antennas designed for Body Area Network (BAN) applications, published during last five years. Design parameters namely substrate, size, feeder, bandwidth, design structure (geometry) and use of Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) are discussed. Performance in term of gain, radiation pattern, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of antennas near human body are reviewed.

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the relationship between savings and investment in the G-7 countries for the period of 1970 to 2015, and the stationary analysis of the data has been done by adopting the panel Levin, Lin & Chu, Breitung, Pesaran & Shin, ADF-Fisher, and PP-Fishers criteria while the long run relationship has been tested by employing the Pedroni residual test of cointegration.
Abstract: This study examined the relationship between savings and investment in the G-7 countries for the period of 1970 to 2015. The stationary analysis of the data has been done by adopting the panel Levin, Lin & Chu, Breitung, Pesaran & Shin, ADF-Fisher & PP-Fisher criteria while the long run relationship has been tested by employing the Pedroni residual test of co-integration. The results neglected the existence of a long run correlation between saving and investment in G-7 countries. Further, joint causality between the savings and investment has also been tested using the fixed effect VAR model. Wald test explains that the two consecutive lags i.e. S (-1) and S (-2) of savings is jointly causing savings in the current year in the G7 countries. While the same two lags of investment i.e. I (-1) and I (-2) does not jointly granger cause savings in the G7 economies. The results are in line with Feldstein and Horioka (1980) that there is a stable and significant association between the increasing rates of savings and investment in the short run while this relationship weaken in the long run.

TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of thermal radiations and chemical reactions on the boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over an exponentially stretching sheet were investigated by using local nonsimilarity methods up to two truncations levels.
Abstract: The focus of this nonsimilar study is to implore the effects of thermal radiations and chemical reactions on the boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over an exponentially stretching sheet. The appropriate nonsimilar transformations are implemented to convert convection differential equations into a set of coupled dimensionless partial differential equations (PDEs). The dimensionless nonsimilar system is analytically approximated by local nonsimilarity methods up to two truncations levels. The numerical simulations of the local nonsimilar truncations are obtained via Matlab-built-in solver bvp4c. The effects of several parameters, such as, radiation parameter, Schmidt and Prandtl numbers on local skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt and local Sherwood numbers, are given in a table, while velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions are numerically calculated and expressed through graphs. From numerical experiments, it can be concluded that the temperature flow profile escalates by enhancing the radiation parameter and the concentration profile de-escalates by rising values of the reaction rate parameter.

TL;DR: In this paper, the compressive strength performance of blended cement cubes containing different percentage of laterite has been investigated and the results show that the strength of cement blended with laterite as SCM is enhanced.
Abstract: The utilization of different industrial waste, by-products or other materials such as ground granulated blast furnace slag, silica fume, fly ash, limestone, and kiln dust, etc. as supplementary cementing materials has received considerable attention in recent years. A study has been conducted to look into the performance of laterite as Supplementary Cementing Materials (SCM). The study focuses on compressive strength performance of blended cement containing different percentage of laterite. The cement is replaced accordingly with percentage of 2 %, 5 %, 7 % and 10 % by weight. In addition, the effect of use of three chemically different laterites have been studied on physical performance of cement as in setting time, Le-Chatlier expansion, loss on ignition, insoluble residue, free lime and specifically compressive strength of cement cubes tested at the age of 3, 7, and 28 days. The results show that the strength of cement blended with laterite as SCM is enhanced.
