Discerning the multi-color fluorescence in donor-π-acceptor molecules by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, a femtosecond transient absorption (fs-TA) spectroscopy was used to measure the multi-color fluorescence of two donor-πacceptor (D-π-A) models based on (2-(4-vinylbenzylidene)malononitrile derivatives.

Recent advances in organic mechanofluorochromic materials

TL;DR: The existence of a structural relationship between aggregation-induced emission compounds and mechanofluorochromism is recognized based on recent results, and the established structure-property relationship will guide researchers in identifying and synthesizing more mechan ofluorchromic materials.

Force-induced activation of covalent bonds in mechanoresponsive polymeric materials

TL;DR: It is found that pronounced changes in colour and fluorescence emerge with the accumulation of plastic deformation, indicating that in these polymeric materials the transduction of mechanical force into the ring-opening reaction is an activated process.

Piezochromic Luminescence Based on the Molecular Aggregation of 9,10-Bis((E)-2-(pyrid-2-yl)vinyl)anthracene†

TL;DR: An effective mechanism of piezochromic luminescence on the basis of the molecular aggregation state of 9,10-bis((E)-2-(pyrid-2-yl)vinyl)anthracene (BP2VA) is reported, which exhibited spectacular luminescent characteristics: grinding and the exertion of external pressure on the powder led to a change in its photoluminescence color from green to red.
