The internal consistency reliability of a five-item measure of socially desirable response set, the SDRS-5, was examined in two samples: 614 outpatients of medical providers and 3053 outpat patients of medical and mental health providers.Abstract:
The internal consistency reliability of a five-item measure of socially desirable response set, the SDRS-5, was examined in two samples: 614 outpatients of medical providers and 3053 outpatients of medical and mental health providers. Alpha reliability estimates were 0.66 and 0.68, respectively. One-month test-retest reliability was 0.75 in a sample of 75 older adults. With appropriate caveats, we recommend the SDRS-5 for clinical investigators needing a very brief measure of socially desirable response set.read more

Experiences of discrimination: Validity and reliability of a self-report measure for population health research on racism and health
TL;DR: The results underscore the need for using validated, multi-item measures of experiences of racial discrimination and suggest the EOD may be one such measure that can be validly employed with working class African Americans and Latino Americans.

Individual differences in rational thought.
TL;DR: This paper explored the extent to which measures of cognitive ability and thinking dispositions can predict discrepancies from normative responding on a variety of tasks from the heuristics and biases literature including the selection task, belief bias in syllogistic reasoning, argument evaluation, base-rate use, covariation detection, hypothesis testing, outcome bias, if-only thinking, knowledge calibration, hindsight bias, and the false consensus paradigm.

Antecedents of adherence to medical recommendations: results from the Medical Outcomes Study.
TL;DR: Patients who were distressed about their health, used avoidant coping strategies, or who reported worse physical and role functioning were less likely to adhere in general, but patient satisfaction with two features of care was positively related to adherence in some models, but satisfaction with the technical quality of carewas negatively associated with adherence to specific recommendations among heart disease patients.

Environmental orientation and corporate performance : the mediation mechanism of green supply chain management and moderating effect of competitive intensity
TL;DR: Li et al. as discussed by the authors proposed and empirically tested a model delineating the relationship among environmental orientation, green supply chain management (GSCM) activities (green purchase, customer cooperation and investment recovery) and corporate performance.

Understanding Employee Responses to Stressful Information Security Requirements: A Coping Perspective
TL;DR: Results from a survey of 539 employee users suggest that SRS engenders an emotion-focused coping response in the form of moral disengagement from ISP violations, which in turn increases one's susceptibility to this behavior.

Coefficient alpha and the internal structure of tests.
TL;DR: In this paper, a general formula (α) of which a special case is the Kuder-Richardson coefficient of equivalence is shown to be the mean of all split-half coefficients resulting from different splittings of a test, therefore an estimate of the correlation between two random samples of items from a universe of items like those in the test.

TL;DR: In this article, three short forms of 11, 12, and 13 items were developed based on the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale and compared with three other short forms developed by Strahan and Gerbasi (1972).

Social Desirability Response Effects: Three Alternative Models
TL;DR: In this paper, three models for the effects of social desirability on organizational behavior research results were developed for the effect of social desire on organizational behaviour research results and showed that social desire can act as an unmeasured variable that produces spurious correlations.
