A new structural model for graphite oxide

TLDR
In this article, a new structural model for graphite oxide and its derivatives was proposed, based on the 13 C NMR spectra of the graphite material, which revealed the presence of epoxide groups, responsible for the oxidating nature of the material.

Synthesis of graphene-based nanosheets via chemical reduction of exfoliated graphite oxide

TL;DR: In this paper, a colloidal suspension of exfoliated graphene oxide sheets in water with hydrazine hydrate results in their aggregation and subsequent formation of a high surface area carbon material which consists of thin graphene-based sheets.

Graphene-based composite materials

TL;DR: The bottom-up chemical approach of tuning the graphene sheet properties provides a path to a broad new class of graphene-based materials and their use in a variety of applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

The chemistry of graphene oxide

TL;DR: This review will be of value to synthetic chemists interested in this emerging field of materials science, as well as those investigating applications of graphene who would find a more thorough treatment of the chemistry of graphene oxide useful in understanding the scope and limitations of current approaches which utilize this material.

Improved Synthesis of Graphene Oxide

TL;DR: An improved method for the preparation of graphene oxide (GO) is described, finding that excluding the NaNO(3), increasing the amount of KMnO(4), and performing the reaction in a 9:1 mixture of H(2)SO(4)/H(3)PO(4) improves the efficiency of the oxidation process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical methods for the production of graphenes.

TL;DR: The use of colloidal suspensions to produce new materials composed of graphene and chemically modified graphene is reviewed, which is both versatile and scalable, and is adaptable to a wide variety of applications.

The chemistry of heterocyclic compounds

G. M. Badger
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that one of the most common types of known quantities of phenyl phenyl is phenyl oxide (POP) oxide, which is a phenyl-oxyoxy phenyl (PE)-oxyoxyphenyl) that can be obtained from phenyl compounds.

Ultrathin graphite oxide–polyelectrolyte composites prepared by self‐assembly: Transition between conductive and non‐conductive states

TL;DR: The preparation and characterization of ultrathin films composed of self-assembled graphite oxide (GO) platelets and polyelectrolytes and the subsequent in situ reduction of GO to a conductive graphite-like state by chemical and electrochemical methods are the subject of the present communication.
