A practical difference scheme for Fokker-Planck equations☆

TLDR
In this article, a finite difference scheme for initial value problems of Fokker-Planck equations has been studied, which provides numerical solutions which preserve some of the more important intrinsic properties of the original partial differential equation.

Inferring the joint demographic history of multiple populations from multidimensional SNP frequency data.

TL;DR: Combining the demographic model with a previously estimated distribution of selective effects among newly arising amino acid mutations accurately predicts the frequency spectrum of nonsynonymous variants across three continental populations (YRI, CHB, CEU).

Stochastic aspects of climatic transitions—response to a periodic forcing

TL;DR: In this article, the time-dependent properties of the Fokker-Planck equation corresponding to a zero-dimensional climate model, showing bistable behavior and subject to a weak external periodic forcing are analyzed.

Gamma-ray binaries : pulsars in disguise?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate whether the interaction of relativistic wind from a young pulsar with the wind from its stellar companion, as in PSR B1259-63, constitutes a viable scenario for explaining the observations of LS 5039 and LSI+61°303.

Elapsed decision time affects the weighting of prior probability in a perceptual decision task

TL;DR: It was found that prior probability was incorporated into the decision process as a dynamic bias signal that increases as a function of decision time, and it is reflected in the firing rates of neurons in the lateral intraparietal area of rhesus monkeys performing this task.
