Ligand substitution reactions

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on catenanes, rotaxanes, helicates, and knots, to provide a qualitative view of the development of mechanistic investigation and understanding in this field of self-assembly and supramolecular chemistry.

Retention of Cr(III) by high-performance chelation ion chromatography interfaced to inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometric detection with collision cell.

TL;DR: High-performance chelation ion chromatography (HPCIC) was employed to retain cationic Cr(III) on an anion-exchange column and hence allow the separation of the two most prevalent forms of chromium, Cr(II) and Cr(VI).

Metal-Catalyzed Hydride Transfer from Alcohols to Photoexcited Dipyridophenazine†.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that adding excess Zn(II) ions to the dppz solution not only accelerates the rate of photoreduction, but also lowers the KIE to 1.7, indicating a change in reaction mechanism.

Kinetics and mechanism of chromium(III)-picolinato and chromium(III)-dipicolinato complexes aquation in HNO3 solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the acid-catalyzed aquation of [Cr(pic)(H2O)4]22+ and [Cr (dpic)3]+(pic = dipicolinic acid dianion) in nitrate(V) media was studied.

[Cu(phen)2(μ-IDA)Cu(phen)](ClO4)2·CH3OH: tridentate and monodentate binding to two copper(II) species by a bridging ligand

TL;DR: The stoichiometric reaction of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), iminodiacetic acid (IDA-H 2 ) and Cu(ClO 4 ) 2 in a H 2 O-CH 3 OH (2:1) solution yields μ-iminodiacetato-2, which completes a distorted square-pyramidal coordination at this metal atom, although there is weak coordination by a perchlorate O atom at a sixth position.
