Adsorption of zinc(II) from an aqueous solution onto activated carbon
TLDR
In this paper, the effects of carbon type and solution pH on adsorption isotherms were evaluated in a batch adsorber, and the results showed that nearly three times as much Zn(II) was adsorbed onto C carbon as on the other three carbon types.About:

Lead removal from aqueous solution by natural and pretreated clinoptilolite: adsorption equilibrium and kinetics.
TL;DR: Kinetic parameters; rate constants, equilibrium adsorption capacities and related coefficients for each kinetic model were evaluated according to relative errors and correlation coefficients and results show that best fitted kinetic models are obtained to be in the order: the pseudo-first order, the Pseudo-second order and Elovich equations.

Cr(VI) removal from synthetic wastewater using coconut shell charcoal and commercial activated carbon modified with oxidizing agents and/or chitosan
TL;DR: It is evident that adsorbents chemically modified with an oxidizing agent demonstrate better Cr(VI) removal capabilities than as-received adsorbent in terms of adsorption rate.

Comparisons of low-cost adsorbents for treating wastewaters laden with heavy metals.
TL;DR: Low-cost adsorbents can be viable alternatives to activated carbon for the treatment of metals-contaminated wastewater and vary, depending on the characteristics of the individual adsorbent, the extent of surface modification and the initial concentration of the adsorbate.

Modification of the surfaces of a gasactivated carbon and a chemically activated carbon with nitric acid, hypochlorite, and ammonia
TL;DR: In this article, a gas-activated carbon and a chemically activated carbon were chemically modified by oxidation with nitric acid or hypochlorite, and the parent and modified carbons and chars were characterized by different techniques, such as acid/base adsorption, TGA/MS, FT-IR, and porosimetry.
