TLDR
All the isolates of Piper longum had antibacterial activity except 3-(3'-4'-5'-trimethoxyphenyl) propionicacid (4), whereas isolate of T. baccata showed moderate activity.
Abstract
This study describes the antibacterial activity of the pure isolates from Piper longum (L.) (black pepper) and Taxus baccata (L.) (Yew). Three isolates of black pepper were active against Gram-posi...

Antibacterial and antifungal activities from leaf extracts of Cassia fistula l.: An ethnomedicinal plant.

TL;DR: The results showed that the remarkable inhibition of the bacterial growth was shown against the tested organisms and these plants can be used to discover bioactive natural products that may serve as leads in the development of new pharmaceuticals research activities.

Leaf-level phenotypic variability and plasticity of invasive Rhododendron ponticum and non-invasive Ilex aquifolium co-occurring at two contrasting European sites.

TL;DR: It is suggested that large fractional investments of foliar N in photosynthetic function coupled with a relatively large mean, leaf-level phenotypic plasticity may provide the primary explanation for the invasive nature and superior performance of R. ponticum with alleviation of water limitations from Mediterranean to temperate maritime climates.

Antifungal Activity of Selected Plant Extracts against Phytopathogenic Fungi Aspergillus niger F2723

TL;DR: In this present study forty nine different plants used in traditional Indian medicine were examined against Aspergillus niger using agar well diffusion method and methanolic extracts of 43 plants exhibited varying degrees of inhibition activity against the fungi.

Antimicrobial phenylpropanoids from Piper sarmentosum

TL;DR: One new and three known phenylpropanoids have been isolated from the leaves of Piper sarmentosum as mentioned in this paper, which are 1-allyl-2,6-dimethoxy-3,4-methylenedioxybenzene, 1-(1- E -propenyl)-2,4,5-trimethoxybenzenes, and 1 -allyl 2,2,methoxy 4,5 -methylenedioxene.
