TLDR
In this article, a class of tapped delay line filter structures whose frequency responses approximate that of an arbitrary delay in the maximally flat sense is presented, which has the advantage that the delay desired is controlled by a number of identical multipliers and a phase shifter whose values are proportional to the desired delay.

Splitting the unit delay [FIR/all pass filters design]

TL;DR: This work presents a comprehensive review of FIR and allpass filter design techniques for bandlimited approximation of a fractional digital delay, focusing on simple and efficient methods that are well suited for fast coefficient update or continuous control of the delay value.

Explicit formulas for weighting coefficients of maximally flat tunable FIR delayers

TL;DR: In this article, the weighting coefficients of maximally flat tunable FIR delayers based on the design of Ko and Lim are derived and a scheme is also presented for evaluating these coefficients with the minimum possible computation.

FIR approximation of fractional sample delay systems

TL;DR: In this article, the approximation of fractional delays by FIR systems using various techniques which have previously been reported in the literature is examined, including the equivalence of the time-domain Lagrangian interpolation, the frequency-domain maximally flat error criterion and the window method.

Coefficient-Symmetries for Implementing Arbitrary-Order Lagrange-Type Variable Fractional-Delay Digital Filters

TL;DR: The coefficient-symmetries facilitate the evaluations of VFD filter coefficients as well as variable frequency responses with reduced computational complexity and can be exploited for efficiently implementing both even- and odd-order Lagrange-type VFD filters as Farrow structure and a more efficient one called even-odd structure.

Closed-form design of maximally flat FIR Hilbert transformers, differentiators, and fractional delayers by power series expansion

TL;DR: In this paper, a closed-form design of FIR Hilbert transformers, maximally flat digital differentiators and fractional delayers is proposed, and the transfer functions of these filters are analytically obtained by expanding some suitable functions into power series.
