TLDR
Results from studies in animal models suggest that specific subtypes of breast cancer may direct metastasis through recruitment and activation of haematopoietic cells, and data implicating breast cancer as a systemic disease is focused on.Abstract:
Breast cancer is now the most frequently diagnosed cancer and leading cause of cancer death in women worldwide. Strategies targeting the primary tumour have markedly improved, but systemic treatments to prevent metastasis are less effective; metastatic disease remains the underlying cause of death in the majority of patients with breast cancer who succumb to their disease. The long latency period between initial treatment and eventual recurrence in some patients suggests that a tumour may both alter and respond to the host systemic environment to facilitate and sustain disease progression. Results from studies in animal models suggest that specific subtypes of breast cancer may direct metastasis through recruitment and activation of haematopoietic cells. In this review, we focus on data implicating breast cancer as a systemic disease.read more

TL;DR: Higher expression of histone gene sets was associated with poor overall survival, relapse- free survival and distant metastasis-free survival of BC patients, indicating that histone family genes sets may be used as prognostic factors for survival prediction for BC patients.

TL;DR: Sorafenib has anti-cancer activity against breast cancer cells and could improve the survival of breast cancer patients by inhibiting their invasive and metastatic properties.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed 12 patients with secondary gastric tumors and found that the primary tumor was breast cancer, and the metastases were found to be breast cancer and showed positivity for CK7 antibody in 83.34%, estrogen receptor in 91.67% and AE1AE3 antibody in 75%, considering all 12 cases.

A prognostic 10-lncRNA expression signature for predicting the risk of tumour recurrence in breast cancer patients

TL;DR: A 10‐lncRNA signature‐based risk score was developed which was used to separate patients into high‐risk and low‐risk groups and effectively grouped patients at low and high risk of disease recurrence.

TL;DR: Survival analyses on a subcohort of patients with locally advanced breast cancer uniformly treated in a prospective study showed significantly different outcomes for the patients belonging to the various groups, including a poor prognosis for the basal-like subtype and a significant difference in outcome for the two estrogen receptor-positive groups.
