Characteristics of pulverized-coal combustion in CO2-Recovery power plant applied O2/CO2 combustion

TLDR
In this paper, the system of oxygen/recycled flue gas combustion for the removal of carbon dioxide from pulverized-coal fired power plants, the combustion characteristics of pulverised coal, and the trial designing of a 1, 000 MWe coal-powered power plant were studied.
Abstract
The system of oxygen/recycled flue gas combustion for the removal of carbon dioxide from pulverized-coal fired power plants, the combustion characteristics of pulverized coal, and the trial designing of a 1 000 MWe pulverized-coal power plant were studied. The flame propagation speed of pulverized-coal cloud was measured in a microgravity combustion chamber at O 2 /CO 2 , O 2 /N 2 and O 2 /Ar atmosphere. NO x and SO 2 emissions from the system were investigated in the industrial scale combustion test facilities. Based on these results and the previous works, the trial designing of a 1 000 MWe pulverized--coal fired power plant applying this combustion system was also studied. As for the heat absorption performance of the boiler furnace, a 3 dimensional numerical analysis was applied to a large utility boiler furnace. It was compared with another promising system CO 2 -recovery, pulverized-coal power plant combined with amine absorption process.

Emission characteristics of coal combustion in different O2/N2, O2/CO2 and O2/RFG atmosphere.

TL;DR: The results indicate that the formation of NOx in general air combustion system is higher than that in O( 2)/RFG or O(2)/CO(2) combustion system, which is beneficial for improving the control efficiencies of air pollution control devices.

Trial design for a CO2 recovery power plant by burning pulverized coal in

TL;DR: In this paper, a CO2 recovery power plant based on pulverized coal O2CO2 combustion uses pure oxygen and flue gas recycled through flue Gas ducts as an oxidant to burn pulverised coal in an O 2CO2 mixture gas.
