Synthesis of protein-reactive (aminostyryl)pyridinium dyes.

TL;DR: The synthesis of two protein reactive (aminostyryl)pyridinium fluorescent dyes, SuASP and ASPSu, utilizes a palladium coupling reaction for the arylation of 4-vinylpyridine, and both reagents are shown to label covalently bovine serum albumin.

Molecular probes for nonlinear optical imaging of biological membranes

TL;DR: These NLO-probes have proved to be particularly useful for imaging of biological membranes by simultaneous SHG and TPEF microscopy and offer attractive prospects for real-time imaging of fundamental biological processes such as adhesion, fusion or reporting of membrane potentials.

Polycyclic 2- aminothiazole systems, processes for their preparation and pharmaceuticals comprising these compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe polycyclic 2-aminothiazole systems and their physiologically tolerated salts and their functional derivatives, which are suitable for use as anorectics.

Fluororeactands for the Detection of Saccharides Based on Hemicyanine Dyes with a Boronic Acid Receptor

TL;DR: Three hemicyanine dyes with boronic acid receptor functions have been synthesized in a two step procedure and show increases in fluorescence upon exposure to saccharides and can be used in aqueous solution at physiological pH.
