TLDR
The influence of high polyethylene glycol and phosphate salt concentrations on the readings of three colorimetric protein assays: Bradford, DC (Bio-Rad) and ninhydrin assay is investigated, which displays minimal protein-to-protein variation and high sensitivity.About:

Aqueous Two-Phase Extraction Advances for Bioseparation
TL;DR: Aqueous two-phase extraction (ATPE) as mentioned in this paper is a unique liquid-liquid extraction, which involves a transfer of solute from one aqueous phase to another.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preventive and therapeutic potential of peptides from cereals against cancer.
TL;DR: A review that includes more recent findings for cereals as a potential source of bioactive peptides in the treatment of cancer, the techniques for their isolation and characterisation and the assays used to prove their bioactivity are not available.

Nanofibrillar cellulose hydrogels and reconstructed hydrogels as matrices for controlled drug release
Heli Paukkonen,Kunnari Mikko,Patrick Laurén,Tiina Hakkarainen,Vili-Veli Auvinen,Timo Oksanen,Raili Koivuniemi,Marjo Yliperttula,Timo Laaksonen +8 more
TL;DR: It was demonstrated that the 3% and 6.5% ANFC hydrogels can be freeze-dried with suitable excipients into highly porous aerogel structures and redispersed back into the hydrogel form without significant change in the rheological properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single stage aqueous two-phase extraction for monoclonal antibody purification from cell supernatant
TL;DR: Solubility of biologic substances was figured out as the most limiting factor during aqueous two-phase extraction and it was majorly considered for system choice and for the determination of an operating window to prevent product loss due to precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous aqueous two-phase extraction and saponification reaction of chlorophyll from silkworm excrement
TL;DR: In this article, the results indicate that it is better to use the simultaneous aqueous two-phase extraction and saponification reaction method than other method, and the effects of different parameters on the amount of sodium chlorophyllin in the top system of the ethanol-NaOH aqueously twophase system (ATPS) were studied, including salt concentration, saponiification temperature and time.

A rapid and sensitive method for the quantitation of microgram quantities of protein utilizing the principle of protein-dye binding
TL;DR: This assay is very reproducible and rapid with the dye binding process virtually complete in approximately 2 min with good color stability for 1 hr with little or no interference from cations such as sodium or potassium nor from carbohydrates such as sucrose.

Photometric ninhydrin method for use in the chromatography of amino acids.
Stanford Moore,William H. Stein +1 more
TL;DR: In the present investigations of the chromatographic separation of amino acids, it has been observed that, when the color development is carried out in tubes exposed to the air, these difficulties appear to result primarily from the influence of dissolved oxygen.

TL;DR: Bradford Coomassie brilliant blue G-250 protein-binding dye exists in three forms: cationic, neutral, and anionic; the binding behavior is attributed to Van der Waals forces and hydrophobic interactions.

Colorimetric protein assay techniques.
TL;DR: It is suggested that the most critical issue in the use of a chromogenic protein assay for the characterization of a biopharmaceutical is the selection of a standard for the calibration of the assay; it is crucial that the standard be representative of the sample.
