Data-Driven Approach for Current Control in DC-DC Boost Converters

TLDR
This work compares and applies data-driven approaches on the control of the inductor current in a DC-DC boost converter directly on an actual plant and shows that the VRFT approach in which the inverse of the controller is identified along with the “derivative” pole outperforms the standard one.

Brief Virtual reference feedback tuning: a direct method for the design of feedback controllers

TL;DR: The new design method is direct and can be applied using a single set of data generated by the plant, with no need for specific experiments nor iterations, and it is shown that the method searches for the global optimum of the design criterion.

Predictive digital current programmed control

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored predictive digital current programmed control for three basic converters: buck, boost, and buck-boost, and found that for each variable of interest (valley, peak or average current) there is a choice of the appropriate pulse-width modulation method to achieve predictive current control without oscillation problems.

A Fast-Response Sliding-Mode Controller for Boost-Type Converters With a Wide Range of Operating Conditions

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, with the proposed controller, the boost converter has a faster response and a lower voltage overshoot over a wide range of operating conditions as compared to that under the widely used peak current-mode controller.

Closed-Loop Analysis and Cascade Control of a Nonminimum Phase Boost Converter

TL;DR: In this paper, a cascade controller is designed and analyzed for a boost converter, and the simulation results show that the reference output voltage is well tracked under parametric changes, system uncertainties, or external disturbances with fast dynamic transients.
