Eurasian Journal of Educational Research
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the level of teachers' organizational citizenship behaviors and counter-productive work behaviors based on public primary school administrators' and teachers' perceptions and the relationship between these two variables.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring problem solving skills via stealth assessment in an engaging video game
TL;DR: This work used stealth assessment, embedded in a game called Use Your Brainz, to measure middle-school students' problem solving skills, and indicated that the problem solving estimates derived from the game significantly correlated with the external measures, which suggests that the stealth assessment is valid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advancing the Science of Collaborative Problem Solving
Arthur C. Graesser,Stephen M. Fiore,Samuel Greiff,Jessica Andrews-Todd,Peter W. Foltz,Friedrich W. Hesse +5 more
TL;DR: This article identifies the existing theoretical frameworks and empirical research that focus on CPS and provides examples of how recent technologies can automate analyses of CPS processes and assessments so that substantially larger data sets can be analyzed and so students can receive immediate feedback on their CPS performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computer-generated log-file analyses as a window into students' minds? A showcase study based on the PISA 2012 assessment of problem solving
TL;DR: Log-file data from the CPS item Climate Control encompassing N?=?16,219 students from 44 countries and economies indicated that the VOTAT strategy was strongly related to performance on the Climate Control item as well as to overall problem solving proficiency, and that there were different levels of non-mastery that ranged from applying no systematic strategic behavior to actually applying VOTat but still failing to solve the item.

The Skill Content of Recent Technological Change: An Empirical Exploration
TL;DR: This paper found that computer capital substitutes for workers in performing cognitive and manual tasks that can be accomplished by following explicit rules, and complements workers in non-routine problem-solving and complex communications tasks.

Schema induction and analogical transfer
Mary L. Gick,Keith J. Holyoak +1 more
TL;DR: This paper showed that if two prior analogs were given, subjects often derived a problem schema as an incidental product of describing the similarities of the analogs, and the quality of the induced schema was highly predictive of subsequent transfer performance.
