Dynamic load balancing for distributed memory multiprocessors
TLDR
This paper completely analyze the hypercube network by explicitly computing the eigenstructure of its node adjacency matrix and shows that a diffusion approach to load balancing on a hypercube multiprocessor is inferior to another approach which is called the dimension exchange method.About:

Approximate Consensus in Stochastic Networks With Application to Load Balancing
TL;DR: The upper bounds for mean square distance between states of the initial stochastic system and its approximate averaged model are derived and these upper bounds are used to obtain conditions for approximate consensus achievement.

A load balancing framework for adaptive and asynchronous applications
TL;DR: In this paper, a load balancing framework and runtime software system for supporting the development of adaptive applications on distributed-memory parallel computers is described, which can be used at the discretion of the application developer in order to simplify program development and to eliminate complex bookkeeping associated with mobile data objects.

Controller architectures: Tradeoffs between performance and structure ☆
TL;DR: This review article describes the design of static controllers that achieve an optimal tradeoff between closed-loop performance and controller structure by incorporating regularization functions into the optimal control problem and optimizing the controller over the identified structure.

Shape-optimized mesh partitioning and load balancing for parallel adaptive FEM
TL;DR: A dynamic distributed load balancing algorithm for parallel, adaptive Finite Element simulations in which preconditioned Conjugate Gradient solvers based on domain-decomposition are used, to maintain good partition aspect ratio.
