Establishment of pluripotent cell lines from porcine preimplantation embryos.

TLDR
In vivo pluripotency of the cells was demonstrated by birth of a chimeric piglet, documented by pigmentation and DNA markers, and the ability to direct the development of nuclear-transfer embryos to the blastocyst stage was demonstrated.

The Expression of Mitochondrial DNA Transcription Factors during Early Cardiomyocyte In Vitro Differentiation from Human Embryonic Stem Cells

TL;DR: Analysis of the proliferation of mitochondria and the expression of mtDNA-specific transcription factors in undifferentiated, migratory embryonic stem cells and spontaneously derived cardiomyocytes shows that final embryonic stem cell commitment may be influenced by mitochondrial proliferation and mtDNA transcription.
Journal ArticleDOI

Challenges and prospects for the establishment of embryonic stem cell lines of domesticated ungulates.

TL;DR: The identification of appropriate stem cell markers, functional cytokine pathways, and key pluripotency-maintaining factors along with the release of more comprehensive bovine and porcine genomes, provide encouragement for establishment of ungulate ES cell lines in the near future.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and culture of embryonic stem cells from porcine blastocysts

TL;DR: It was found that enzyme digestive method could isolate ICMs without any damages of cells in all blastocysts (28) and these ES cells are pluripotent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic Pluripotent Stem Cell States and Their Applications.

TL;DR: The newly unveiled ability of some stem cell types for crossing xeno-barriers will facilitate the generation of interspecies chimeric embryos from distant species, including humans, and open new frontiers for regenerative medicine applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

New advances in somatic cell nuclear transfer: application in transgenesis.

TL;DR: Some of the factors which affect the development of embryos produced by nuclear transfer, the advantages of using cultured cells as donors of genetic material, and methods that have been developed to enrich gene targeting frequency are reviewed.

Molecular Cloning: A Laboratory Manual

TL;DR: Molecular Cloning has served as the foundation of technical expertise in labs worldwide for 30 years as mentioned in this paper and has been so popular, or so influential, that no other manual has been more widely used and influential.
Journal ArticleDOI

Establishment in culture of pluripotential cells from mouse embryos

TL;DR: The establishment in tissue culture of pluripotent cell lines which have been isolated directly from in vitro cultures of mouse blastocysts are reported, able to differentiate either in vitro or after innoculation into a mouse as a tumour in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation of a pluripotent cell line from early mouse embryos cultured in medium conditioned by teratocarcinoma stem cells

TL;DR: In this article, the authors described the establishment directly from normal preimplantation mouse embryos of a cell line that forms teratocarcinomas when injected into mice and demonstrated the pluripotency of these embryonic stem cells by the observation that subclonal cultures, derived from isolated single cells, can differentiate into a wide variety of cell types.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sheep cloned by nuclear transfer from a cultured cell line

TL;DR: This is the first report, to the authors' knowledge, of live mammalian offspring following nuclear transfer from an established cell line, and will provide the same powerful opportunities for analysis and modification of gene function in livestock species that are available in the mouse through the use of embryonic stem cells.

Teratocarcinomas and embryonic stem cells : a practical approach

TL;DR: The results allowed us to assess the importance of knowing the carrier and removal status of canine coronavirus, as a source of infection for other animals, not necessarily belonging to the same breeds.
