Mechanical characterisation of carbon fibre–PEEK manufactured by laser-assisted automated-tape-placement and autoclave Part A Applied science and manufacturing

TL;DR: In this paper, carbon fiber-pEEK laminates, manufactured by laser-assisted ATP (LATP) and autoclave, are compared and it is shown that LATP cooling rates are extremely rapid and suggests full through-thickness melting of the pre-preg tape may not occur.

Advanced frequency analysis of thick FGM plates using third-order shear deformation theory with a nonlinear shear correction coefficient

TL;DR: In this article , the effects of third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT) displacements and advanced nonlinear varied shear correction coefficient on the free vibration frequency of thick functionally graded material (FGM) plates under environment temperature are studied.

Closed-Form Solutions for Buckling of Long Anisotropic Plates with Various Boundary Conditions under Axial Compression

TL;DR: In this paper, closed-form solutions for buckling of long plates with flexural/twist anisotropy with the short edges simply supported and with the longitudinal edges just supported, clamped, or elastically restrained in rotation under axial compression are presented.

Bounds on the natural frequencies of laminated rectangular plates with Extension–Bending coupling

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present solutions for both Cross-ply laminates and standard laminate, defined as containing combinations of angle plies and cross plies, for a range of different sub-sequence symmetries.

Balanced and Symmetric Laminates - New Perspectives on an Old Design Rule

TL;DR: In this article, a list of bending-twist coupled laminates with up to 21 plies is presented, which are characterized in terms of angle-and cross-ply sub-sequence symmetries.

Free vibration of anti-symmetric angle-ply plates with variable thickness

TL;DR: In this article, the free vibration of angle-ply plates with variable thickness is analyzed using spline function approximation including the effect of shear deformation, and the equations of motion for the plate are derived using the theory of Yang, Norris and Stavsky.

Accurate free vibration analysis of clamped antisymmetric angle-ply laminated rectangular plates by the Superposition-Galerkin method

TL;DR: In this article, the Superposition-Galerkin method is exploited for the first time to obtain an accurate analysis of the free vibration of antisymmetric angle-ply laminated plates with combinations of clamped simply supported edge conditions.
