Noninvasive quantification of axon radii using diffusion MRI

TL;DR: This work shows how – when confounding factors such as extra-axonal water and axonal orientation dispersion are eliminated – heavily diffusion-weighted MRI signals become sensitive to axon radii, and enables noninvasive mapping of critical information on axon radius distribution within a voxel that emphasizes the larger axons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of sampling and quantization on single-tone frequency estimation

TL;DR: It is found that 1-bit quantization gives a slightly worse performance, however, with a dramatic increase of variance at certain frequencies, which can be avoided by using four times oversampling.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Advancing wireless link signatures for location distinction

TL;DR: This work compares two existing location distinction methods and develops a new link measurement that is based on channel gains of multi-tonal probes, and another on channel impulse response, and finds that the complex temporal signature method performs significantly better compared to the existing methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low-Complexity, Nonintrusive Speech Quality Assessment

TL;DR: A low-complexity algorithm for monitoring the speech quality over a network that can be computed from commonly used speech-coding parameters without explicit distortion modeling is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clutter filters adapted to tissue motion in ultrasound color flow imaging

TL;DR: This paper compares this algorithm with several other adaptive clutter filtering algorithms and finds that realistic accelerations of the tissue have a large effect on the clutter rejection and adapted the filter to a possibly accelerated tissue motion and produced a significant improvement in clutter rejection.

Adaptive Filter Theory

Simon Haykin
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a recursive least square adaptive filter (RLF) based on the Kalman filter, which is used as the unifying base for RLS Filters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fundamentals of statistical signal processing: estimation theory

TL;DR: The Fundamentals of Statistical Signal Processing: Estimation Theory as mentioned in this paper is a seminal work in the field of statistical signal processing, and it has been used extensively in many applications.

Probability, random variables and stochastic processes

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the concept of a Random Variable, the meaning of Probability, and the axioms of probability in terms of Markov Chains and Queueing Theory.

Probability, random variables, and stochastic processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the meaning of probability and random variables are discussed, as well as the axioms of probability, and the concept of a random variable and repeated trials are discussed.

Discrete-Time Signal Processing

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a thorough treatment of the fundamental theorems and properties of discrete-time linear systems, filtering, sampling, and discrete time Fourier analysis.
