GLRT-Based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio

TL;DR: Several spectrum sensing methods designed using the generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) paradigm, for application in a cognitive radio network are proposed, showing that by making various assumptions on the availability of side information such as noise variance and signal space dimension, several feasible algorithms result which all outperform the standard energy detector.

Uplink CoMP under a Constrained Backhaul and Imperfect Channel Knowledge

TL;DR: In this article, a new framework incorporating a multitude of theoretical uplink CoMP concepts, which are then put into perspective with practical CoMP algorithms, is proposed to provide new insight into the potential value of different uplink coMP concepts in next generation wireless communications systems, and reveals the subset of schemes that are most likely to be used in practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative study of single molecule location estimation techniques.

TL;DR: The results show that both estimators, on average, are able to recover the true location of the single molecule in all scenarios the authors examined, but in the absence of modeling inaccuracies and low noise levels, the maximum likelihood estimator is more accurate than the nonlinear least squares estimator, as measured by the standard deviations of its estimates.

Jamming Games in the MIMO Wiretap Channel With an Active Eavesdropper

TL;DR: This paper investigates reliable and covert transmission strategies in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wiretap channel with a transmitter, receiver and an adversarial wiretapper, each equipped with multiple antennas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Imaging Schemes for Perfectly Conducting Cracks

TL;DR: An analytic framework that uses asymptotic expansions which are uniform with respect to the wavelength-to-crack size ratio in combination with a hypothesis test based formulation to construct specific procedures for detection of perfectly conducting cracks is introduced.

Adaptive Filter Theory

Simon Haykin
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a recursive least square adaptive filter (RLF) based on the Kalman filter, which is used as the unifying base for RLS Filters.

Fundamentals of statistical signal processing: estimation theory

TL;DR: The Fundamentals of Statistical Signal Processing: Estimation Theory as mentioned in this paper is a seminal work in the field of statistical signal processing, and it has been used extensively in many applications.

Probability, random variables and stochastic processes

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the concept of a Random Variable, the meaning of Probability, and the axioms of probability in terms of Markov Chains and Queueing Theory.

Probability, random variables, and stochastic processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the meaning of probability and random variables are discussed, as well as the axioms of probability, and the concept of a random variable and repeated trials are discussed.
