Galinstan liquid metal breakup and droplet formation in a shock-induced cross-flow

TLDR
In this paper, the role of higher density and fast elastic surface oxide formation on column breakup morphology and droplet characteristics of liquid metals is investigated. But, the analysis of column breakup of water with Galinstan, a room-temperature eutectic liquid metal alloy of gallium, indium and tin, is not well studied.

Megahertz-rate shock-wave distortion cancellation via phase conjugate digital in-line holography.

TL;DR: An ultra-high-speed phase conjugate digital in-line holography technique where a laser passes through the shock-wave and is reflected back through the phase distortion, thus correcting phase delays, is reported.
