Abstract
In previous work we proposed a field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product. In this paper we gauge a symmetry that arises from the algebra's triple product. We then construct a supersymmetric theory with no free parameters that is consistent with all the continuous symmetries expected of a multiple M2-brane theory: 16 supersymmetries, conformal invariance, and an SO(8) R-symmetry that acts on the eight transverse scalars. The gauge field is not dynamical. The result is a new type of maximally supersymmetric gauge theory in three dimensions.

Freudenthal Gauge Theory

TL;DR: The Freudenthal Triple System (FTS) is a ternary algebra with mixed symmetry (not completely symmetric) structure constants as mentioned in this paper, which is invariant under two (off-shell) symmetries: the gauge Lie algebra constructed from the FTS triple product and a novel global non-polynomial symmetry, the Freudenthal duality.

Metric Lie n-algebras and double extensions

TL;DR: In this paper, the notion of a double extension of a metric Lie n-algebra by another Lie nalgebra is defined and a structure theorem for Lie n algebras possessing an invariant inner product is proved.

TENSOR MODELS AND HIERARCHY OF n-ARY ALGEBRAS

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the symmetry of the rank-three tensor models is generated by a hierarchy of n-ary algebras starting from the usual commutator, and the 3-ary algebra symmetry reported in the previous paper is just a single sector of the whole structure.

Aspects of monopole operators in N=6 Chern-Simons theory

TL;DR: In this paper, the superconformal index with simple magnetic monopole operators is computed and shown to be consistent with the results obtained from localization, where it is shown that magnetic monopoles and basic fields can mix in odd-dimensional self-duality-like equations.

Aspects of monopole operators in = 6 Chern-Simons theory

TL;DR: In this paper, the superconformal index with simple magnetic monopole operators is computed and shown to be consistent with the results obtained from localization, where it is shown that magnetic monopoles and basic fields mix.

Modeling multiple M2-branes

Superconformal Chern-Simons theories

TL;DR: In this paper, a Lagrangian description of a maximally supersymmetric conformal field theory in three dimensions was constructed recently by Bagger and Lambert (BL), which has SO(4) gauge symmetry and contains scalar and spinor fields that transform as 4-vectors.

N = 8 Superconformal Chern--Simons Theories

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibilities for constructing Lagrangian descriptions of three-dimensional superconformal classical gauge theories that contain a Chern-Simons term, but no kinetic term, for the gauge fields are explored.
