In this article, a supersymmetric field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product is proposed. But the field is not dynamical.Abstract:
In previous work we proposed a field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product. In this paper we gauge a symmetry that arises from the algebra's triple product. We then construct a supersymmetric theory with no free parameters that is consistent with all the continuous symmetries expected of a multiple M2-brane theory: 16 supersymmetries, conformal invariance, and an SO(8) R-symmetry that acts on the eight transverse scalars. The gauge field is not dynamical. The result is a new type of maximally supersymmetric gauge theory in three dimensions.read more

On new maximal supergravity and its BPS domain-walls
TL;DR: In this paper, the SU(3)-invariant sector of N = 8 supergravity with dyonic SO(8) gaugings is revised by using the embedding tensor formalism, and analytic expressions for scalar potential, superpotential, and fermion mass terms are obtained as a function of the electromagnetic phase ω and the scalars in the theory.

Metric 3-Lie algebras for unitary Bagger-Lambert theories
TL;DR: In this article, a structure theorem for finite-dimensional indefinite-signature metric 3-Lie algebras admitting a maximally isotropic centre is proved. But the Lagrangian for the Bagger-Lambert theory is not shown to be consistent with the physical Hilbert space.

Superconformal Chern-Simons theories
TL;DR: In this paper, a Lagrangian description of a maximally supersymmetric conformal field theory in three dimensions was constructed recently by Bagger and Lambert (BL), which has SO(4) gauge symmetry and contains scalar and spinor fields that transform as 4-vectors.

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibilities for constructing Lagrangian descriptions of three-dimensional superconformal classical gauge theories that contain a Chern-Simons term, but no kinetic term, for the gauge fields are explored.
