Abstract
In previous work we proposed a field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product. In this paper we gauge a symmetry that arises from the algebra's triple product. We then construct a supersymmetric theory with no free parameters that is consistent with all the continuous symmetries expected of a multiple M2-brane theory: 16 supersymmetries, conformal invariance, and an SO(8) R-symmetry that acts on the eight transverse scalars. The gauge field is not dynamical. The result is a new type of maximally supersymmetric gauge theory in three dimensions.

\( \mathcal{N} = 8 \) superspace constraints for three-dimensional gauge theories

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a systematic analysis of the super Yang-Mills theory in 3D space-time dimensions, where the general coupling between vector and scalar supermultiplets is encoded in an SO(8) tensor WAB which is a function of the matter fields and subject to a set of algebraic and super-differential relations.

Amplitudes of 3d Yang Mills Theory

TL;DR: In this article, the amplitudes of maximal 3D super Yang-Mills can be reduced to scalar box diagrams and evaluated using dimensional regularization, and it is shown that the one-loop MHV amplitudes vanish and the oneloop non-MHV amplifyings are finite.

Superconformal Chern-Simons theories

TL;DR: In this paper, a Lagrangian description of a maximally supersymmetric conformal field theory in three dimensions was constructed recently by Bagger and Lambert (BL), which has SO(4) gauge symmetry and contains scalar and spinor fields that transform as 4-vectors.

N = 8 Superconformal Chern--Simons Theories

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibilities for constructing Lagrangian descriptions of three-dimensional superconformal classical gauge theories that contain a Chern-Simons term, but no kinetic term, for the gauge fields are explored.
