TLDR
Strong competition between four-wave mixing and amplified spontaneous emission in resonant two-photon excitations is shown to generate radiation fields with strong squeezing and antibunching.
Abstract
Strong competition between four-wave mixing and amplified spontaneous emission in resonant two-photon excitations is shown to generate radiation fields with strong squeezing and antibunching. The generated fields are in a new type of coherent state which is an eigenstate of the operator corresponding to the simultaneous annihilation of photons in two modes.

Multiphoton quantum optics and quantum state engineering

TL;DR: A review of theoretical and experimental aspects of multiphoton quantum optics can be found in this paper, where the authors focus on parametric processes in nonlinear media, with special emphasis on the engineering of nonclassical states of photons and atoms that are relevant for the conceptual investigations and for the practical applications of modern quantum mechanics.

Nonclassical statistics of fields in pair coherent states

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the nonclassical properties of pair coherent states defined as the simultaneous eigenstates of the operator that annihilates photons in pairs and of the operation that gives the relative occupation number in the two modes.

Quantitative measures of entanglement in pair-coherent states

TL;DR: In this paper, the pair-coherent states for a two-mode radiation field are known to belong to a family of states with non-Gaussian wave functions and the nature of quantum entanglement between the two modes and some features of non-classicality are studied.

Contradiction of quantum mechanics with local hidden variables for quadrature phase amplitude measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate a contradiction of quantum mechanics with local hidden variable theories for continuous quadrature phase amplitude (position and momentum) measurements, and show that for optical realizations of this experiment, where one uses homodyne detection techniques to perform the quadratures phase amplitude measurement, one has an amplification prior to detection, so that macroscopic fields are incident on photodiode detectors.
