GipsyX/RTGx, a new tool set for space geodetic operations and research

TLDR
GipsyX/RTGx as discussed by the authors is a next generation software package for positioning, navigation, timing, and Earth science using measurements from three geodetic techniques: Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), and Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS); with Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) under development.

GPS Imaging of Global Vertical Land Motion for Studies of Sea Level Rise

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimate the rates and patterns of vertical land motion (VLM) on all locations on Earth's land surface using GPS Imaging and provide global maps and estimates of VLM at all tide gauges of the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level to better constrain the difference between geocentric and relative sea level rise.
Journal ArticleDOI

Feasibility of ERA5 integrated water vapor trends for climate change analysis in continental Europe: An evaluation with GPS (1994–2019) by considering statistical significance

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the feasibility of the IWV trends derived from the newly released fifth generation European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) atmospheric reanalysis (ERA5) for climate change analysis in continental Europe.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cascading rupture of a megathrust

TL;DR: In this article , a coseismic slip model for the 2021 M8.2 Chignik earthquake was presented and the relationship of this earthquake to previous major events in the Alaska Peninsula region and to interseismic coupling was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atmospheric pressure loading in GPS positions: dependency on GPS processing methods and effect on assessment of seasonal deformation in the contiguous USA and Alaska

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare five GPS data products produced by three processing centers: the Nevada Geodetic Laboratory, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and UNAVCO Consortium, and find that 5 to 30% of the scatter in residual GPS time series (commonly considered noise) can be explained by atmospheric loading in the contiguous USA and Alaska, but the percentages vary widely by data product.

The Global Land Data Assimilation System

TL;DR: The Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) as mentioned in this paper is an uncoupled land surface modeling system that drives multiple models, integrates a huge quantity of observation-based data, runs globally at high resolution (0.25°), and produces results in near-real time (typically within 48 h of the present).

Solving Ordinary Differential Equations I: Nonstiff Problems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the historical development of the classical theory of linear methods for solving nonstiff ODEs and present a modern treatment of Runge-Kutta and extrapolation methods.

Using MPI: Portable Parallel Programming with the Message-Passing Interface

TL;DR: Using MPI as mentioned in this paper provides a thoroughly updated guide to the MPI (Message-Passing Interface) standard library for writing programs for parallel computers, including a comparison of MPI with sockets.

GRACE measurements of mass variability in the Earth system.

TL;DR: Geoid variations observed over South America that can be largely attributed to surface water and groundwater changes show a clear separation between the large Amazon watershed and the smaller watersheds to the north.
