Practical implementation and performance assessment of an Extended Kalman Filter-based signal tracking loop

TL;DR: The accuracy in PVT of the software receiver can be remarkably improved if the tracking is designed with a proper EKF architecture and the performance is even better than the one obtained by the mass market receiver, even when a simple one-shot least-squares approach is adopted for the computation of the navigation solution.

Maximum-likelihood GPS parameter estimation

TL;DR: An assessment based on theoretical performance and simulation results indicates that a maximum-likelihood GPS receiver can achieve an order-of-magnitude performance improvement relative to a sliding-correlator GPS receiver.

Bounds on RF cooperative localization for video capsule endoscopy

Yunxing Ye
TL;DR: The accuracy limits of RF localization techniques for VCE localization applications are addressed and an assessment of the accuracy of cooperative localization of VCE using radio frequency (RF) signals with particular emphasis on localization inside the small intestine is presented.

A Novel Microstrip Patch Antenna with Reduced Surface Wave Excitation

TL;DR: In this article, a microstrip circular patch antenna with two shorting pins is proposed as an antenna with reduced surface wave and lateral wave excitation, and it is demonstrated that a discrimination against the lateral wave of 30 dB or more is achievable.

Temporal Variability of GPS Error Sources and Their Effect on Relative Positioning Accuracy

TL;DR: This paper analyzes the temporal variations of the broadcast satellite clock model and orbit parameters, and ionospheric errors and comprises primarily of assessing error behaviors and magnitudes through time and frequency analyses.

Wide Area Differential GPS

TL;DR: Simulation results indicate that normal GPS positioning errors can potentially be reduced by more than 95% using WADGPS.

Ephemeris and Clock Navigation Message Accuracy

J. Zumberge, +1 more
TL;DR: The accuracy of the ephemeris and clock corrections contained in the GPS navigation message is discussed.

GPS and Inertial Integration

TL;DR: This chapter devotes one section to address each of the following questions: how complex are the integration algorithms required to provide the desired level of performance, with options for growth to meet future requirements?

Test Range Instrumentation

TL;DR: In the early 1970s, laser trackers became available to support test activities as discussed by the authors, and a combination of radar, distance-measuring equipment (DME), optical trackers such as cinetheodolites, and other miscellaneous instrumentation to provide time-space position information (TSPI) to satisfy test platform positioning requirements.
