Assessing cross-datable distinct annual growth rings in non-native Pinus kesiya Royle ex Gordon in Zambia
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated if the annual tree-ring boundaries in non-native Pinus kesiya Royle ex Gordon in Zambia are distinct, cross-datable, and coherent with climate signal.

ESTUDIO DE LOS ANILLOS DE CRECIMIENTO DE Cordia alliodora (Ruiz & Pav.) EN COLOMBIA
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between tree growth and climate variables (total annual precipitation, mean annual temperature) and the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) was investigated in the dry forest of Colombia.

The first paleoxylotomical evidence from the Mid-Eocene Climate Optimum from Turkey
TL;DR: The first occurrence of plant macrofossils belonging to the Middle Miocene Climate Optimum, a crucial period in Earth's history, found in Turkey was reported in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of anatomical characters in Acianthera section Pleurobotryae (Orchidaceae: Pleurothallidinae).
TL;DR: The results support the argument that vegetative organs are more evolutionarily stable in comparison to reproductive organs and thus helpful for inference of internal phylogenetic relationships in Acianthera, while flowers are highly variable, perhaps due to the diversity of pollinator attraction mechanisms.

Vertical resin ducts in the secondary wood of the abietineae
TL;DR: Character of the tissue associated with the ducts and its interpretation and distribution at wounds andPhylogenetic interpretations and fossil evidence are presented.
Outdoor wood weathering and protection.
TL;DR: The natural weathering process causes exposed wood to discolour and degrade through the effect of light, moisture and staining micro-organisms as mentioned in this paper, but since light does not penetrate wood deeper than 200 mm, degradations reactions are a surface phenomenon.
