TLDR
In this article, the authors presented a novel procedure for the identification of delaminations in composite laminated panels from surface displacement measurements, where the damage identification procedure is formulated as an inverse problem where experimental data from digital speckle pattern interferometry (DSPI) out-of-plane displacement measurements are used to quantify the planar location, size, orientation and depth of the flaw.

Full field measurements and identification in Solid Mechanics Depth-resolved Phase Imaging

TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical framework based on the Ewald sphere construction is proposed to estimate the depth resolution and displacement sensitivity for any given optical geometry and wavelength scan range, and the related issue of robust phase unwrapping of noisy 3-D wrapped phase volumes is also described.

Identification of the local stiffness reduction of a damaged composite plate using the virtual fields method

TL;DR: In this paper, the virtual fields method (VFM) is used as an inverse procedure to process curvatures for the identification of the local loss of stiffness, which is based on a relevant use of the equilibrium equations through the principle of virtual work.

Detection of delamination in laminated composites with limited measurements combining PCA and dynamic QPSO

TL;DR: Studies carried out and presented in this paper clearly indicate that the proposed SHM scheme can robustly identify the instant of damage, spatial location, the extent of delamination and matrix cracking even with limited sensor measurements and also with noisy data.
