Polarization characteristics from SFG spectra of clean and regulatively oxidized Ni(100) surfaces adsorbed by propionate and formate

TL;DR: In this article, the polarization characteristics of infrared-visible sum frequency generation (SFG) signals of molecules on metallic surfaces are different from those due to molecules on insulating surfaces.

Site blocking effects in ethylidyne decomposition kinetics on Ru(001) : in-situ-study with infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy at elevated pressure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the decomposition kinetics of ethylidyne in the presence of coadsorbates on Ru(001) and showed that the stabilizing effect of CO and hydrogen is significantly enhanced at elevated pressure, supporting a model wherein an empty neighboring metal site is required before decomposition can proceed.

Characterization of AlPO systems, precursors of the novel basic catalyst family AlPON

TL;DR: In this article, a spinel-like solid is proposed to alter the electronic density of oxide ions and phosphorus cations and hence their Lewis acid-base properties with respect to the amorphous solid having aluminium and phosphorus only in tetrahedral arrangement.
