Mass Transfer Enhancement by Static Mixers in a Wall-Coated Catalytic Reactor
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of wall-coated tubular reactors can be significantly enhanced using static mixers, which may be a new tool for reaction engineers, e.g., to replace catalyst-pellet-filled tubes in multi-tubular reactors to suppress hot-spot formation or for heterogeneously catalyzed viscous liquid-phase reactions.

Effect of electrically heated catalytic converter on emission characteristic of a motorcycle engine in cold-start conditions: CFD simulation and kinetic study
TL;DR: In this article, a kinetic model has been developed by using CFD methods to investigate the effects of using EHC on CO emission from motorcycle engines, which showed that using the heater at the inlet of the catalytic converter is more effective than when it is in mid-section and the converter has a higher reaction performance.

Catalytic Oxidation Performance of Wall-Flow versus Flow-Through Monoliths for Diesel Emissions Control
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the steady-state and transient performance characteristics of catalyzed wall-flow diesel particulate filters to the respective flow-through oxidation catalysts, and showed that the conversion efficiency of the wallflow catalyzed filter is a complex function of thermal, mass-transport, and chemical phenomena that occur simultaneously.
