Journal ArticleDOI

A phenomenological model for particle number and size distributions of a diesel engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst.

TL;DR: A novel phenomenological one-dimensional model was established to predict particle number and size distributions at a DOC outlet and it was found that dilution temperature, fuel sulfur content, exhaust gas temperature, and gas hourly space velocity played a key role in the particle number after DOC oxidation.
Journal ArticleDOI

A machine learning approach to modeling and identification of automotive three-way catalytic converters

TL;DR: This paper introduces a hybrid modeling technique which allows one to preserve the most important features of an accurate, distributed parameter TWC model, while it circumvents both the structural and the parameter uncertainties of "classical" reaction kinetics models, and saves the computational time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced Mass Transfer in Monolith Catalysts with Bumps on the Channel Walls

TL;DR: In this article, the mass transfer rate in metallic triangular monolith channels with small protuberances on the channel walls was measured and compared with conventional, straight channels without bumps, and the CO oxidation reaction was used to estimate the mass-transfer rates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction Kinetics of C3H6 Oxidation for Various Reaction Pathways Over Diesel Oxidation Catalysts

TL;DR: In this article, reaction kinetics studies of C3H6 oxidation over Pt/Al2O3 and Pt/SiO2 catalysts were characterized using temperature-programmed oxidation with different oxidants: O2, NO2 and surface nitrates.
