Linear algebraic algorithms for high speed and stable reconstruction of plasma image

TLDR
The singular value and QR decompositions of the projection matrix give new types of series expansions of the plasma image and present stable and high speed imaging which might be useful for monitoring the time evolution of plasma in a fusion device with angular-limited, sparse and noisy data in projection observation.

Soft X ray tomography during ELMs and impurity injection in JET

TL;DR: In this paper, a grid-based constrained optimization method that uses anisotropic smoothness on flux surfaces as regularization has been used to reconstruct very localized soft X ray emission from the wall during edge localized modes.

Chapter 7: Tomography Diagnostics: Bolometry and Soft-X-Ray Detection

TL;DR: In this paper, a multichannel broadband measurement of the soft-X-ray radiation and total radiation in magnetically confined fusion plasma experiments is presented, along with the application of computed tomography methods in the mathematical reconstruction of emission profiles from multiple (approximately) line-integral measurements.

Modern numerical methods for plasma tomography optimisation

TL;DR: In this article, an optimised version of robust and fast tomographic algorithm based on the Tikhonov regularisation constrained to minimum Fisher information is presented. And the resulting speed of reconstruction is compared to other referenced tomographic algorithms.

Phillips–Tikhonov regularization of plasma image reconstruction with the generalized cross validation

TL;DR: In this article, the use of the Phillips-Tikhonov regularization is proposed for numerically stabilizing the ill-conditioned plasma image reconstructions, which leads to a linear estimator of the image intensity distribution and makes it possible to use the generalized cross validation for optimizing a regularization parameter.
