Linking routines to operations capabilities: A new perspective

TLDR
In this article, the authors identify improvement and innovation as two critical plant level capabilities, each consisting of a bundle of interrelated yet distinct routines and empirically measure the two capabilities as second-order latent variables and estimate their effects on a set of operational performance measures.

Lean and agile manufacturing: external and internal drivers and performance outcomes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate internal and external factors that may influence the performance of a manufacturing plant in a Lean and Agile manufacturing environment and propose two initiatives that are used by manufacturing plant managers to improve operations capabilities.

The impact of supply chain integration on company performance: an organizational capability perspective

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of three types of supply chain integration (SCI) on three different types of company performance from the perspective of organizational capability is examined. And the results show that internal integration improves external integration and that internal and external integration directly and indirectly enhance company performance.

Routines Revisited: Exploring the Capabilities and Practice Perspectives

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare and contrast how each perspective incorporates the effects of individual actors, tacit knowledge, ambidexterity, and context specificity, and find that the two streams of work have distinct trajectories and strengths, but elements of each can be complementary to developing a more holistic understanding of organizational routines.

In union lies strength: Collaborative competence in new product development and its performance effects

TL;DR: This paper found that collaborative competence has a direct impact on project performance but its impact on market performance is indirect, mediated through project performance, and companies that fail to achieve desired project performance outcomes will also fail in achieving market performance goals.

Structural equation modeling in practice: a review and recommended two-step approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide guidance for substantive researchers on the use of structural equation modeling in practice for theory testing and development, and present a comprehensive, two-step modeling approach that employs a series of nested models and sequential chi-square difference tests.

Dynamic capabilities and strategic management

TL;DR: The dynamic capabilities framework as mentioned in this paper analyzes the sources and methods of wealth creation and capture by private enterprise firms operating in environments of rapid technological change, and suggests that private wealth creation in regimes of rapid technology change depends in large measure on honing intemal technological, organizational, and managerial processes inside the firm.
