Magnetic Domains

TLDR
In this paper, a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n, and they are interpreted using string theory and presented some partial proofs of this conjecture.
Abstract
Recently a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n We interpret these ideas using string theory and present some partial proofs of this conjecture We then extend the notion of bags and their Nahm transform to higher gauge theories and arbitrary domains Bags in four dimensions conjecturally describe the large n limit of n self-dual strings We show that the corresponding Basu-Harvey equation is the large n limit of an equation describing n M2-branes, and that it has a natural interpretation in loop space We also formulate our Nahm equations using strong homotopy Lie algebras

Achieving Isotropic Permeability for Integrated Inductors

TL;DR: Partially perpendicular anisotropy in thin Permalloy thin films was found to produce reliably isotropic permeability in the plane of the film as mentioned in this paper, which is especially desirable for integrated closed-loop magnetic solenoid inductors in order to create an efficient return path for the flux.

Internal stress distribution for generating closure domains in laser-irradiated Fe–3%Si(110) steels

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the internal stress distribution for generating closure domains occurring in laser-irradiated Fe-3%Si(110) steels using high-energy X-ray analysis and domain theory based on the variational principle.

Imprinted labyrinths and percolation in Nd-Co/Nb magnetic/superconducting hybrids

TL;DR: In this article, a good correlation is found between the regimes corresponding to percolation effects in the superconductor and to the transition from extended to confined superconductivity with the characteristic fields for reverse domain nucleation and fast domain expansion in the magnetic layer.

Harmonic loss analysis and air-gap optimization of high speed induction motors

TL;DR: In this paper, the air-gap width of high speed induction motors is optimized in order to improve the efficiency of the motor, and it is shown that the largest loss component at high speed conditions is the harmonic core losses by the stator and rotor slots.

TL;DR: In this article, a supersymmetric field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product is proposed. But the field is not dynamical.

Type iib superstrings, bps monopoles, and three-dimensional gauge dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the Coulomb branch of certain three-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and the moduli spaces of magnetic monopoles are explained via string theory, and new phase transitions in three dimensions as well as new infrared fixed points and even new coupling constants are predicted from the string theory construction.
