Magnetic Domains

TLDR
In this paper, a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n, and they are interpreted using string theory and presented some partial proofs of this conjecture.
Abstract
Recently a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n We interpret these ideas using string theory and present some partial proofs of this conjecture We then extend the notion of bags and their Nahm transform to higher gauge theories and arbitrary domains Bags in four dimensions conjecturally describe the large n limit of n self-dual strings We show that the corresponding Basu-Harvey equation is the large n limit of an equation describing n M2-branes, and that it has a natural interpretation in loop space We also formulate our Nahm equations using strong homotopy Lie algebras

Design and Development of a GPU-Accelerated Micromagnetic Simulator

Gunnar Selke
TL;DR: This work develops the fast micromagnetic simulator MicroMagnum, which runs on CPUs as well as on graphics processing units (GPUs), and its high performance on GPUs allows the investigation of large simulation problems that could not be treated before by previous software.

Antidot patterned single and bilayer thin films based on ferrimagnetic Tb-Co alloy with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.

TL;DR: Although an exchange bias has been locally detected in the FeNi layer, the integrated hysteresis loop has increased coercivity and zero shift along the field axis due to the significantly decreased magnetic anisotropy of TbCo layer.

Enhancement of longitudinal magneto-optical Kerr effect in HfO2/Co/HfO2/Al/silicon thin films

TL;DR: In this paper, the cavity enhancement of HfO2 on the magneto-optical (MO) Kerr response of the quadrilayer has been confirmed, and the giant longitudinal Kerr rotation of −1.04° at wavelength of 570nm is tested when the cap and intermediate Hf O2 layer thicknesses are 15-nm and 30-nm, respectively.

A Comparison of Magnetic Domain Images Using a Modified Bitter Pattern Technique and the Kerr Method on Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic domain patterns of high permeability grain-oriented (HGO) electrical steel have been compared using a modified Bitter technique and the magneto-optical Kerr method.

TL;DR: In this article, a supersymmetric field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product is proposed. But the field is not dynamical.

Type iib superstrings, bps monopoles, and three-dimensional gauge dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the Coulomb branch of certain three-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and the moduli spaces of magnetic monopoles are explained via string theory, and new phase transitions in three dimensions as well as new infrared fixed points and even new coupling constants are predicted from the string theory construction.
