Magnetic Domains

TLDR
In this paper, a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n, and they are interpreted using string theory and presented some partial proofs of this conjecture.
Abstract
Recently a Nahm transform has been discovered for magnetic bags, which are conjectured to arise in the large n limit of magnetic monopoles with charge n We interpret these ideas using string theory and present some partial proofs of this conjecture We then extend the notion of bags and their Nahm transform to higher gauge theories and arbitrary domains Bags in four dimensions conjecturally describe the large n limit of n self-dual strings We show that the corresponding Basu-Harvey equation is the large n limit of an equation describing n M2-branes, and that it has a natural interpretation in loop space We also formulate our Nahm equations using strong homotopy Lie algebras

Magnetic microstructure analysis of sputter deposited permalloy thin films on a spin-on polyimide substrate

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed magneto-optical measurements of sputter deposited permalloy (NiFe 81/19) thin films on a polyimide based spin-on substrate and a silicon oxide substrate.

Effect of temperature and magnetic field on magnetomechanical damping of Fe-based bulk metallic glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, temperature and magnetic field dependence of magnetomechanical damping of two ferromagnetic Fe-based bulk metallic glasses with different Curie temperatures, T C, have been studied over a broad temperature interval from the para-ferromagnetic transition down to 15 K.

Microstructure and magnetic properties dependence on the thickness of TbxDy1 − xFe2 thin films sputtered on Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrate

TL;DR: In this paper, the thickness effect of the Terfenol-D layer on the microstructure and on the magnetic properties was investigated, and it was shown that in situ elaboration at 500°C gives rise to large diffusion of the platinum of the bottom electrode into the terfenol D film leading to different sub-layers.

Effect of in-plane uniaxial anisotropy on self-organized magnetic structures generated by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of uniaxial in-plane anisotropy on the properties of ordered magnetic structures generated by the DM interaction were investigated by performing Monte-Carlo simulated annealing.

Collective magnetism in arrays of spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors elucidate dipolar magnetic interaction effects in spinor condensates at a low-background field and show that arrays of ferromagnetic spinor Bose-Einstein Condensates show a rich phase structure that is strongly influenced by the competition of shape anisotropy and higher-order magnetostatic contributions both depending on the condensate's form.

TL;DR: In this article, a supersymmetric field theory model for multiple M2-branes based on an algebra with a totally antisymmetric triple product is proposed. But the field is not dynamical.

Type iib superstrings, bps monopoles, and three-dimensional gauge dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the Coulomb branch of certain three-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and the moduli spaces of magnetic monopoles are explained via string theory, and new phase transitions in three dimensions as well as new infrared fixed points and even new coupling constants are predicted from the string theory construction.
