Magnetic properties of copper acetate at low temperatures

B. C. Guha
- 01 Jan 1965 -
- Vol. 11, Iss: 109, pp 175-177
TLDR
In this paper, the abnormal magnetic behavior of the single crystal of Cu(CH3COO)2H2O is discussed in the light of its magnetic and fine structure studies, and the large magnetic anisotropy and the sharp fall of its principal susceptibilities with the fall of temperature may be attributed to anisotropic negative exchange interaction between paramagnetic ions.

Structure and Magnetic Properties of a 1D Alternating Cu(II) Monomer―Paddlewheel Chain

TL;DR: In this article, a rare example of an ABBABB coupled linear chain comprised of alternating dicopper(II) tetraacetate units bridged to copper (II) acetate monomer units via axial η2:η1:µ2 coordinated acetate is reported.

Magnetic properties of copper acetate at low temperatures

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic behavior of a cupric acetate monohydrate single crystal is discussed in the light of crystal structure and Bleaney and Bowers theory and it is suggested that Guha's magnetic data are erroneous, and that his suggestion of anisotropic exchange interaction is unnecessary.

Paramagnetic Resonance in Copper Acetate Monohydrate

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of paramagnetic resonance absorption of copper acetate monohydrate (Cu(CH 3 COO) 4 ·2H 2 O) were examined at room temperature by the method of magnetic resonance absorption, the results differing somewhat from those of usual copper salts.

Magnetic Studies on Cu++ Ion in Cupric Acetate Monohydrate Crystal

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnitudes of the exchange integrals for two directions of ionic cluster have been directly deduced from the principal magnetic susceptibilities of cupric acetate monohydrate single crystal between room temperature and 90°K.

Visible Absorption Spectra of Copper-ethylene-diamine- bis (acetylacetone) in the Crystalline State

TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal field theory predicts a splitting of the five-fold degenerate d-orbital energy levels into four energetically different levels, d¯¯¯¯xy, d¯¯z¯¯¯¯2, d>>\s>>\s````s````, dcffffz>>\sproximation, and d¯¯¯¯zx(d¯¯¯¯yz), in the order of diminishing energy.

Occurrence of Maximum and Minimum in the Principal Magnetic Susceptibility versus Temperature Curves

B. C. Guha
- 01 Mar 1963 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the temperature variation of principal magnetic susceptibilities of paramagnetic salts of the iron group of elements from room temperature down to about 80° K and found that the square of the effective magnetic moment (p2) value comes down so rapidly with the decrease of temperature that the corresponding susceptibility actually shows a maximum in the susceptibility versus temperature curve.
