Perspective on the Development of Lead-free Piezoceramics

TL;DR: In this paper, general guidelines for the development of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics are presented, ranging from atom to phase diagram, and the current development stage in lead free piezoceramics is then critically assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review: environmental friendly lead-free piezoelectric materials

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the recent developments on lead-free piezo materials emphasizing on their preparation, structure-property correlation, etc., and concluded that some lead free compositions show stable piezoelectric responses even though they do not match the overall performance of PZT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Piezoelectric properties of Li- and Ta-modified (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 ceramics

TL;DR: Guo et al. as discussed by the authors showed that high densities and piezoelectric properties can be obtained for all compositions by pressureless sintering in air, without cold isostatic pressing, and without any sinterings aid or special powder treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lead Free Piezoelectric Materials

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review and discuss piezoelectric properties of selected lead free compositions in relation to structural and microstructural features as well as extrinsic contributions (domain walls displacement, conductivity) to their electromechanical properties.

Mass Transport and Sintering in Impure Ionic Solids

TL;DR: In this article, the chemical potentials of the constituents in an impure ionic solid are derived as a function of the pressure and the impurity concentration, and the theory is applied to a sintering model which illustrates a possible effect of impurity additions on sinting rates.
