Parabolic nondiffracting optical wave fields
TLDR
The existence of parabolic beams that constitute the last member of the family of fundamental nondiffracting wave fields and their associated angular spectrum is demonstrated and their eigenvalue spectrum is continuous.Abstract:
We demonstrate the existence of parabolic beams that constitute the last member of the family of fundamental nondiffracting wave fields and determine their associated angular spectrum. Their transverse structure is described by parabolic cylinder functions, and contrary to Bessel or Mathieu beams their eigenvalue spectrum is continuous. Any nondiffracting beam can be constructed as a superposition of parabolic beams, since they form a complete orthogonal set of solutions of the Helmholtz equation. A novel class of traveling parabolic waves is also introduced for the first time.read more

Manipulation of dielectric particles with nondiffracting parabolic beams
TL;DR: The trapping and manipulation of microscopic particles embedded in the structure of nondiffracting parabolic beams is reported and an asymmetry in the terminal velocity of the particles caused by the counteracting gradient and scattering forces is observed.

TL;DR: The radiation forces on a Rayleigh dielectric particle induced by a highly focused parabolic scaling Bessel beam (PSBB) are investigated and it is found that the lower limit in the particle radius for stable trapping is different for different orders.

Scintillation and bit error rate calculation of Mathieu–Gauss beam in turbulence
TL;DR: It is shown that scintillation indexes of both odd and even modes of MGBs are less than Gauss beam, andigation in scintillation index brings 10 −6 times lesser bit error rate (BER) than Gaussian beam.

TL;DR: In this paper, a class of propagation invariant spatiotemporal optical wave packets with spherical harmonic symmetries in their field configurations is introduced, and the evolution of these light orbitals is considered theoretically in anomalously dispersive media, and their spinning dynamics are analyzed in terms of their corresponding energy flows.

Exact solutions for nondiffracting beams. I. The scalar theory
TL;DR: In this paper, exact nonsingular solutions of the scalar-wave equation for beams that are non-diffracting were presented, which means that the intensity pattern in a transverse plane is unaltered by propagating in free space.
