Plate tectonics in the classification of personality disorder: shifting to a dimensional model.

TLDR
It may be time to consider a shift to a dimensional classification of personality disorder that would help address the failures of the existing diagnostic categories as well as contribute to an integration of the psychiatric diagnostic manual with psychology's research on general personality structure.
Abstract
The diagnostic categories of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders were developed in the spirit of a traditional medical model that considers mental disorders to be qualitatively distinct conditions (see, e.g., American Psychiatric Association, 2000). Work is now beginning on the fifth edition of this influential diagnostic manual. It is perhaps time to consider a fundamental shift in how psychopathology is conceptualized and diagnosed. More specifically, it may be time to consider a shift to a dimensional classification of personality disorder that would help address the failures of the existing diagnostic categories as well as contribute to an integration of the psychiatric diagnostic manual with psychology's research on general personality structure.

A comparison of the DSM-5 Section II and Section III personality disorder structures

TL;DR: Evaluating the continuity across the Section II and III models of personality disorders revealed that the DSM-5 Section II disorders were most strongly associated with their Section III traits, and showed evidence to support the addition of facets not included in the Section III diagnostic criteria in the prediction of most disorders.

Replicability and 40-year predictive power of childhood ARC types.

TL;DR: Analysis of the teacher personality assessments of over 2,000 children in 1st through 6th grade in 1959-1967 and follow-up data on general and cardiovascular health outcomes in over 1,100 adults recontacted 40 years later found bootstrapped internal replication clustering suggesting that Big Five scores were best characterized by a tripartite cluster structure corresponding to the ARC types.

Using the five-factor model to identify a new personality disorder domain: the case for experiential permeability.

TL;DR: These studies provide a methodological framework for identifying and developing aspects of personality dysfunction that can expand the comprehensiveness of the current set of Axis II disorders.

A multivariate perspective on schizotypy and familial association with schizophrenia: a review.

TL;DR: Evidence to date supports further investigation of genetic associations between symptoms of schizotypal personality disorder and schizophrenia, and suggests that social-interpersonal symptoms may be particularly promising in genetic analyses of schizophrenia.

Contrasting prototypes and dimensions in the classification of personality pathology: evidence that dimensions, but not prototypes, are robust.

TL;DR: Factor analysis revealed that the dimensional structures underlying specific traits were highly robust across samples, and was interpreted as further evidence of the fundamentally dimensional nature of an empirically based classification of personality pathology.

Construct validity in psychological tests.

TL;DR: The present interpretation of construct validity is not "official" and deals with some areas where the Committee would probably not be unanimous, but the present writers are solely responsible for this attempt to explain the concept and elaborate its implications.
