QTL analysis of seed-flooding tolerance in soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.)

TLDR
Great intervarietal variation in seed-flooding tolerance as evaluated by germination rate (GR) and normal seedling rate (NS) is revealed and pigmented seed coat and small seed weight tended to give a positive effect on seed-Floodingolerance.

Functional genomics of soybean for improvement of productivity in adverse conditions

TL;DR: Recent advances in soybean functional genomics are discussed which provide unprecedented opportunities to understand global patterns of gene expression, gene regulatory networks, various physiological, biochemical, and metabolic pathways as well as their association with the development of specific phenotypes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improving Flooding Tolerance of Crop Plants

Angelika Mustroph
- 22 Aug 2018 -
TL;DR: Recent progress and approaches to enhance crop resistance to flooding are summarized, including anatomical adaptations such as aerenchyma formation, the formation of a barrier against radial oxygen loss, and the growth of adventitious roots.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association mapping of soybean seed germination under salt stress.

TL;DR: The SNPs detected could facilitate a better understanding of the genetic basis of soybean salt tolerance at the germination stage, and the marker BARC-021347-04042 could contribute to future breeding for soybeans in saline soils by marker-assisted selection.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Rapid isolation of high molecular weight plant DNA

TL;DR: A method is presented for the rapid isolation of high molecular weight plant DNA which is free of contaminants which interfere with complete digestion by restriction endonucleases, and which yields total cellular DNA.

Oxygen Stress and Superoxide Dismutases

TL;DR: The accumulation of dioxygen in Earth's atmosphere allowed for the evolution of aerobic organisms that use O2 as the terminal electron acceptor, thus providing a higher yield of energy compared with fermentation and anaerobic respiration.
