In this paper, the performance of the encoding and the modulation processes in the downlink and uplink of the EPCglobal Gen2 system through the analysis and simulation is analyzed and the synchronization issues on time and frequency domain and the preamble architecture are evaluated.
Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the performance of the encoding and the modulation processes in the downlink and uplink of the EPCglobal Gen2 system through the analysis and simulation. Furthermore, the synchronization issues on time and frequency domain and the preamble architecture are evaluated. Through the simulation in the uplink, we find that the detection probability of FM0 and Miller coding approaches 1 at 13 dB Eb/N0.

Effect of Gen2 protocol parameters on RFID tag performance

TL;DR: The measurement methodology and characterization of several tags with different latest Gen2 ICs available on the market (Monza, UCODE, and Higgs families) are described and conclusions on how the protocol parameters affect the tag performance in forward and reverse links are drawn.

Wisent: Robust downstream communication and storage for computational RFIDs

TL;DR: Wisent is proposed - a robust downstream communication protocol for CRFIDs that operates on top of the legacy UHF RFID communication protocol: EPC C1G2 and shows how Wisent enables wireless CRFID reprogramming, demonstrating the world's first wirelessly reprogrammable (software defined)CRFID.

A Low-Power Continuously-Calibrated Clock Recovery Circuit for UHF RFID EPC Class-1 Generation-2 Transponders

TL;DR: A low-power, reliable and re-configurable clock recovery circuit for UHF RFID transponders for the EPC Class-1 Generation-2 standard is proposed, based on a digital frequency-locked loop, to calibrate an oscillator's output frequency to meet the stringent frequency accuracy requirement of the standard.

UHF RFID in Automatic Vehicle Identification: Analysis and Simulation

TL;DR: In this paper, the application of UHF RFID in automatic vehicles identification is studied by the means of a new simulation framework and it was shown that a vehicle could be identified with 0.9 probability by EPC values only when the vehicle speed is 120 km/h or even more.

Log-Linear-Complexity GLRT-Optimal Noncoherent Sequence Detection for Orthogonal and RFID-Oriented Modulations

TL;DR: This work presents an algorithm that performs generalized-likelihood-ratio-test (GLRT) optimal noncoherent sequence detection of orthogonally modulated signals in flat fading with log-linear (in the sequence length) complexity, and shows that this algorithm also solves efficiently the optimal non coherence sequence detection problem in contemporary radio frequency identification (RFID) systems.
