TLDR
In this article, it was shown that vermiculites modified by ion exchange with hexadecyltrimethylammonium or intercalation with poly(hydroxy iron) cations are potential adsorbents for removal of fulvic acid, whereas the adsorption on the raw clay mineral is negligible.About:

Adsorption of humic acid to aminopropyl functionalized SBA-15
TL;DR: In this paper, aminopropyl functionalized SBA-15 adsorbents with varied aminophropyl contents were prepared via the co-condensation method and characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption, IR spectroscopy and zeta-potential measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of fulvic acids from aqueous solutions by carbon nanotubes
TL;DR: In this paper, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were used as an adsorbent to remove fulvic acids (FA) from aqueous solutions, and the adsorption capacity of CNTs for FA can reach 24 mg g−1 at 5 °C and equilibrium concentration of 18 mg dm−3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Removal of catechol from aqueous solutions by adsorption onto organophilic-bentonite.
TL;DR: Organophilic-bentonite, produced by exchange of cetyltrimethylammonium cation for metal cations on the bentonite, was exploited as adsorbent for removal of catechol from aqueous solutions using batch technique and results show that catechole could be removed efficiently at pH values > or =9.9.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of low concentration humic acid from water by palygorskite
TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of using palygorskite to adsorb low concentrations of Humic acid was investigated as a function of the initial HA concentration, equilibrium time, solution pH and ionic strength, temperature, and palygoroskite dose.
