This paper studies the resource allocation for orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access relay network with multiple source nodes, multiple relay nodes, and a single destination node using a graph theoretical approach.
Abstract
This paper studies the resource allocation for orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access relay network with multiple source nodes, multiple relay nodes, and a single destination node. The optimal source/relay/subcarrier allocation problem with fairness constraint on relay nodes is formulated as a binary integer programming problem. The problem is then tackled using a graph theoretical approach by transforming it into a linear optimal distribution problem in a directed graph. Upper bound of the solution is discussed and simulation results are studied to evaluate the algorithm performance

Fairness-aware radio resource management in downlink OFDMA cellular relay networks

TL;DR: This paper provides a comprehensive centralized RRM algorithm for downlink OFDMA cellular fixed relay networks in a way to ensure user fairness with minimal impact on network throughput and shows that the proposed centralized scheme is different from the traditional centralized schemes in terms of the substantial savings in complexity and feedback overhead.

Cooperative diversity in wireless networks: Efficient protocols and outage behavior

TL;DR: Using distributed antennas, this work develops and analyzes low-complexity cooperative diversity protocols that combat fading induced by multipath propagation in wireless networks and develops performance characterizations in terms of outage events and associated outage probabilities, which measure robustness of the transmissions to fading.

The capacity of wireless networks

TL;DR: When n identical randomly located nodes, each capable of transmitting at W bits per second and using a fixed range, form a wireless network, the throughput /spl lambda/(n) obtainable by each node for a randomly chosen destination is /spl Theta/(W//spl radic/(nlogn)) bits persecond under a noninterference protocol.

User cooperation diversity. Part I. System description

TL;DR: Results show that, even though the interuser channel is noisy, cooperation leads not only to an increase in capacity for both users but also to a more robust system, where users' achievable rates are less susceptible to channel variations.

Distributed space-time-coded protocols for exploiting cooperative diversity in wireless networks

TL;DR: This work develops and analyzes space-time coded cooperative diversity protocols for combating multipath fading across multiple protocol layers in a wireless network and demonstrates that these protocols achieve full spatial diversity in the number of cooperating terminals, not just theNumber of decoding relays, and can be used effectively for higher spectral efficiencies than repetition-based schemes.

Capacity theorems for the relay channel

TL;DR: In this article, the capacity of the Gaussian relay channel was investigated, and a lower bound of the capacity was established for the general relay channel, where the dependence of the received symbols upon the inputs is given by p(y,y) to both x and y. In particular, the authors proved that if y is a degraded form of y, then C \: = \: \max \!p(x,y,x,2})} \min \,{I(X,y), I(X,Y,Y,X,Y
