Transparent p -Type Conducting Oxides: Design and Fabrication of p-n Heterojunctions

TL;DR: Inorganic solids with wide bandgaps are usually classified as electrical insulators and are used in industry as insulators, dielectrics, and optical materials as mentioned in this paper, however, interest in these wide-gap oxides as conductive materials has not been strong.

High mobility transparent conducting oxides for thin film solar cells

TL;DR: In this article, a special class of transparent conducting oxides (TCO) with high mobility of > 65 cm 2 ǫV − 1 − 1 s − 1 1/ǫs − 1 allows film resistivity in the low 10 − 4 ǩ − 4 Ω − 1 range and a high transparency of > 80% over a wide spectrum, from 300nm to beyond 1500nm.

Chemical and Thin-Film Strategies for New Transparent Conducting Oxides

TL;DR: The work in this paper describes a collaborative, multi-investigator bulk an d thin-film research effort at Northwestern University aimed at the synthesis, characterization, and enhanced understanding of multi-cation (compound and solidsolution) TCOs, and provides a brief account of what we are discovering about this important class of materials.

Probing the Electronic Structures of Ternary Perovskite and Pyrochlore Oxides Containing Sn 4+ or Sb 5+

TL;DR: The participation of the normally inert A- site cation in the electronic structure near the Fermi level can be considered an inductive effect, as it utilizes substitution on the A-site to directly modify the electronic structures of the SnO(3)(2)(-) framework.

Revised effective ionic radii and systematic studies of interatomic distances in halides and chalcogenides

TL;DR: The effective ionic radii of Shannon & Prewitt [Acta Cryst. (1969), B25, 925-945] are revised to include more unusual oxidation states and coordinations as mentioned in this paper.

Optical Properties of Indium Oxide

TL;DR: In this article, the fundamental optical absorption edge of indium oxide at room temperature was investigated, and it was shown that the minimum of the conduction band is at k=0 and the maximum of the valence band was at k≠0.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal Structure of Gadolinium Orthoferrite, GdFeO3

TL;DR: The crystal structure of gadolinium orthoferrite, GdFeO3, has been determined from single-crystal x-ray data as discussed by the authors, and the structure is solved on the basis that the most probable space group is D2h(16)-Pbnm.

Electrical Properties of High‐Quality Stannic Oxide Crystals

TL;DR: In this article, a chemical vapor deposition technique using chlorine transport, no inert carrier gases, and low pressure has been used to grow stannic oxide crystals of higher purity and with almost an order of magnitude higher low-temperature Hall mobility, 8800 cm2/V sec at 80°K, than have previously been available.

Electrical Properties of Single Crystals of Indium Oxide

TL;DR: In this paper, an investigation of electrical properties of indium oxide single crystals has been made and it has been found that indium oxides are an n-type excess semiconductor over a wide temperature range.
