TLDR
In this paper, the statistical characteristics of wind at 10 locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are studied and the autocorrelation coefficients are computed and correlograms are found compatible with the real diurnal variation of mean wind speed for almost all the locations.

A neural networks approach for wind speed prediction

TL;DR: The results on a testing data indicate that the neural network approach outperforms the AR model as indicated by the prediction graph and by the root mean square errors.

Estimation of wind speed profile using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS)

TL;DR: In this article, a clustering algorithm based neuro-fuzzy method was proposed to find wind speed profile up to height of 100 m based on knowledge of wind speed at heights 10, 20, 30, 40 m.

Estimating wind speed distribution

TL;DR: In this paper, the scale and shape parameters were estimated using three methods, the Chi-square method, method of moments and regression method, which gave the best overall fit to the distribution of the wind data.

Techno-economical study of hybrid power system for a remote village in Algeria

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a techno-economic assessment for off-grid hybrid generation systems of a site in south western Algeria, where the HOMER model was used to evaluate the energy production, life-cycle costs and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

Time series analysis, forecasting and control

TL;DR: In this article, a complete revision of a classic, seminal, and authoritative book that has been the model for most books on the topic written since 1970 is presented, focusing on practical techniques throughout, rather than a rigorous mathematical treatment of the subject.

Time Series Analysis Forecasting and Control

TL;DR: This revision of a classic, seminal, and authoritative book explores the building of stochastic models for time series and their use in important areas of application —forecasting, model specification, estimation, and checking, transfer function modeling of dynamic relationships, modeling the effects of intervention events, and process control.

Weibull parameters for wind speed distribution in Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: In this article, the shape and scale parameters of a Weibull density distribution function were calculated for 10 locations in Saudi Arabia and the daily mean wind speed data from 1970 to mid-1990 were used for this purpose.
